Over 100,000 wristbands requested for this year’s Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On

Thanks to a stunning line-up featuring Example and DJ Wire, Conor Maynard, Diversity and Louisa Johnson, there are a huge number of applications from all across the country

Winners will be chosen at random and will be notified by email via the address through which they applied. Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response with more than 100,000 wristbands requested for just 20,000 tickets.

“The response from local people as well as fans of the bands and artists taking part has been really positive. “All the winners will be notified shortly .”

But even if you’re not one of the lucky ones to get your hands on a ticket for the best gig in Blackpool this year, you’re in luck. People can still guarantee themselves a ticket by purchasing one of our VIP Switch-On packages with VIP partner Viva Blackpool.

The VIP packages include a complimentary drink and canapes on arrival; access to the VIP marquee within the Switch-On arena; and exclusive access to the after-show party in the glittering Festival Suite with Viva’s host and Entertainment Director, Mr Leye D Johns, along with members of the Viva cast for an exclusive VIP performance.

Prices start from £69 for adults and £35 for under 14s and are on sale now.  Tickets include a whole host of added extras including a delicious after-show supper and an official VIP goody bag.

The Friday night celebration will start with a “Blackpool Introduces” showcase featuring the best of talent from across the Fylde Coast including a special performance from the Blackpool and the Fylde College Choir, local singer songwriter James Edgar; the incredible vocal harmonies of District 12; upcoming new band Pacific; and, the soulful vocals of Gloria Aldereti.

Prior to the start of the main show featuring international rapper and songwriter Example, he will be joined by the hugely-talented Louisa Johnson – at 17, the youngest ever winner of the X-Factor.  Singer-songwriter and YouTube sensation Conor Maynard, who is no stranger to the resort having appeared at the inaugural SLIMEFEST event in 2016, will be joined by Diversity following their seventh UK arena tour, and promise to bring another unique set to the Switch-On stage. Also returning for a second year, are R3wire and Varksi, the Club MTV presenters and record producers, who brought the house down in 2016.

Nickelodeon SLIMEFEST – 21, 22 & 23 October – The Nickelodeon SLIMEFEST ticketed shows will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the Arena, Blackpool Pleasure The six shows across three days will feature live performances, games, characters and plenty of slime, music and mayhem!
