Discover the village built on soap (c) Port Sunlight Village Trust

Come and explore one of the finest industrial worker villages in the world.

Built in 1888 by William Lever to house the factory workers at his Sunlight Soap factory, Port Sunlight was a radical vision to provide a healthy and beautiful place for working-class people to live and work. Some of the leading architects of the late 19th and early 20th century contributed towards designing the blocks of Arts and Crafts-style cottages which line its leafy streets, with no two houses being the same.
