Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts has officially opened a host of brand new rides and attractions across its resorts in readiness for a busy spring and summer season ahead.

Visitors to Gulliver’s World are being transported to the magical Land of Oz in a new, immersive themed area that features two exciting new rides and a new attraction that defies gravity. Families can follow the yellow brick road to the Land of Oz, where they can visit the Upside Down House, ride in a Munchkin Motor, and fly high with the Winged Monkeys.

The Upside Down House, from Upside Down House UK, is a dazzling attraction that turns everything completely on its head – an interactive experience for children and adults, where visitors can touch anything within their reach, and receive a gravity-defying photo of their adventure.

The Winged Monkeys Ride, manufactured by SBF Visa, is a thrill-seeker’s dream with riders twisting, turning, and soaring through the skies on this awesome Wicked-inspired new adventure. And families can take to the wheel of the Munchkin Motors, a revamp and retheme of a vintage classic, to drive through the Land of Oz whilst looking out for its much-loved characters.

Gulliver’s Valley, in Rotherham, has expanded its Gulliver’s Gears area with the opening of its new ‘Turbo Tower’ and ‘Crazy Planes’ rides.Turbo Tower gives riders treetop views of the surrounding Rother Valley before plunging them down a 15m drop. Manufactured by SBF Visa, the ride is set to be one of the most popular at the resort. Guests can now also buckle up and take a flight on the super Crazy Planes ride, which spins guests through the skies.

And Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath has also just opened its new drop 15m tower ride, manufactured by SBF Visa, under the name ‘Tree Top Drop’.

Aimed at families with children aged two to 13 years old, the four Gulliver’s resorts across the UK each offer a great variety of rides, attractions and accommodation options, and a calendar packed full of special events throughout the year.

Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “Here at Gulliver’s, we are always looking to invest in our resorts and enhance our offering to help create new experiences and memories for families to enjoy, and these new rides do just that.

“We’re gearing up for another busy and fun season ahead, and these new additions are really exciting for our whole team as well as for our guests.

“The Land of Oz area at Gulliver’s World in Warrington is a fantastic new area that brings something different and sparks imaginations as visitors follow the yellow brick road. This year sees Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham celebrate its fifth anniversary so it’s great to expand the Gears areas there with two new rides as we look to build on the success we’ve had there in the years to come. And the opening of Tree Top Drop at Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath comes off the back of the revamped Safari Kingdom area, which was completed last year and has added a whole new element to the park and has had really positive customer feedback.

“This is just the start, and there are lots of exciting things to come at all our resorts this year, so watch this space!”

Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts is a family-run business founded by Ray Phillips and his late wife Hilary, who opened the family’s first theme park, Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath, in 1978 – beginning a life-long passion for the family to provide great value days out and short breaks to generations of children across the UK.

Today, the company boasts four parks across the UK, having launched Gulliver’s World in Warrington in 1989, Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes in 1999 and Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham in 2020. The Gulliver’s business is now headed up by Ray and Hilary’s daughter, managing director Julie Dalton, along with her brother Nick Phillips, who is also a director.
