Offering a jam packed events calendar, the iconic Blackpool Air Show has been a fixture in our calendar since 1909 with jaw dropping aerobatic stunts and fly-bys – the skies come to life from the 12-13 August. The world famous Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On Weekend takes place on 1 September when one lucky celebrity receives the honour of flicking that famous switch or watch the skies illuminate for the World Firework Championships Blackpool every Friday throughout September, as international teams battle it out to be crowned the winner. And if that’s not enough the iconic Blackpool Illuminations runs from 1 September – 5 November 2017.

With an abundance of award-winning attractions from the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the world famous Blackpool Tower home to The Tower Dungeons, Circus, Tower Ballroom and the Tower Eye. Those looking for an animal-mad adventure why not visit Blackpool Zoo, or swim with sharks at SEA LIFE Blackpool, meet the stars at Madame Tussauds or chill out in 84-degree sub-tropical paradise at Sandcastle Waterpark.
Blackpool is also home to some stunning venues steeped in history or heritage but don’t take our word for it see for yourself. For those wishing to explore the great outdoors, then Stanley Park is one of the jewels in Blackpool’s crown with acres of lush gardens to explore, a boating lake, beautiful Art Deco café and an abundance of recreational activities.
The world famous promenade has been attracting visitors since Victorian times and it’s easy to see why, offering majestic views and tranquillity of the North and South Promenade to the hustle and bustle of Central Pier, a trip to Blackpool would not be complete without a walk along the stunning promenade.
If its fine dining your after than Blackpool has a variety of options for whatever you fancy from Italian, Chinese, American, Greek or simply British you’re sure to find something to suit your needs.
For those nature lovers, you can stroll or cycle around Heron’s Reach and take in the idyllic surroundings, stumble across Salisbury Woodland, where you’ll find a 1950’s war bunker or visit Marton Mere’s Nature Reserve designed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and home to hundreds of wintering ducks to a beautiful display of dragonflies and flowers come summer.
