Woburn Safari Park – The wild is closer than you think!
Woburn Safari Park sits in over 300 acres of beautiful Bedfordshire parkland and is home to over 1,000 wild animals. Visitors can enjoy unlimited circuits of the Road Safari, before continuing the adventure in Animal Encounters and enjoying lots of free activities in the Leisure Area. Visitors will learn all about the wild residents from the many keeper talks and demonstrations that take place throughout the day and there are plenty of activities to keep the children amused.
Your adventure starts in the African Reserve, home to antelope, rhino, monkeys, giraffe and many more, giving visitors unparalleled close encounters with some of the world’s most magnificent and endangered animals.
In the Kingdom of the Carnivores, you’ll find yourself amongst North American black bears and Canadian timber wolves in a mixed reserve where they live happily together. Drive past Amur tigers and into 32 acres of rolling parkland in the Lion reserve, where you will encounter a pride of beautiful African lions enjoying their spacious enclosure.
In the Foot Safari, head down to new enclosure Himalayan Heights, which is home to a trio of adorable red panda – Mali, Mambo and Miranda. The bachelorette group can be seen in their impressive house and scenic outdoor area which includes a waterfall, bamboo garden and a climbing frame.
Animal Encounters is home to penguins, sea lions, squirrel monkeys, lemurs, wallabies, meerkats, porcupines and many more. There is a daily programme of keeper talks and demonstrations in the Foot Safari where you can learn more about care and conservation, or watch feeding times and you’ll find birds of prey and parrot flying demonstrations. These are a great way to find out more about some of your favourite animals and keepers are on hand to answer any questions visitors may have about the animals living at the Park. Don’t forget to go to Elephant Meadow for the daily talk with keepers and the Asian elephants, including adorable calf Tarli.
You can also book a tour guide for your coach, for added entertainment value, for just £75 per coach. Your knowledgeable ranger will join you when you arrive and accompany your group around the Road Safari, giving fascinating animal facts and insight into the animals’ personalities.
