The Spa Valley Railway in Royal Tunbridge Wells announces new Cream Tea offering on its dining trains beginning Good Friday 30 March 2018.
What better way to spend the afternoon than indulging in a delicious Cream Tea while enjoying a return heritage train journey between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge. Travel on the 15:20 service from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge on selected Green timetable days of the year, and watch the glorious High Weald countryside go by from the comfort of the beautifully decorated Bar Car ‘Kate’, whilst enjoying a wonderful Cream Tea.
Arrive at Tunbridge Wells West for 15:00 and take a look inside the Victorian Engine Shed. Board the heritage diesel train and travel to Eridge. Cream Teas are served as the train departs from Tunbridge Wells.
Upon arrival at Eridge Station there is an opportunity to alight briefly to look at the Steam Locomotive which will be taking passengers back up the hill to Tunbridge Wells. Trains arrive back at Tunbridge Wells for approximately 16:40.Included in the ticket price of £18 for adults and £12 for children is one return journey from Tunbridge Wells West to Eridge with Steam and/or Heritage Diesel. A traditional Cream Tea of 2 scones, clotted cream, jam and a pot of tea served on board one of the heritage carriages.
Our popular Cream Tea service operates on selected 15:20 departures on selected Green timetable days throughout the year. A selection of red, white and rosé wine is available to purchase on board. Private hire Cream Teas for up to 48 persons can be booked in advance. Please contact the railway for details.
