As home of the National Fruit Collection the Brogdale orchards are home to over 2,200 different varieties of apple including unusual red flashed apples or heritage varieties dating back hundreds of years as well as 550 Varieties of pears, 285 varieties of cherries, 337 varieties of plums plus quinces, medlars and nuts. All like you have never seen before and won’t find anywhere else.
The National Fruit Collections orchards at Brogdale are bursting with history, unique knowledge and living heritage. Discover fruit varieties dating back to Henry Vlll or rare varieties you simply won’t find in the shops, the varieties are rich in history with global associations and cultural significance and flavours like nowhere else.
