Emirates Spinnaker Tower is refreshing its educational offering with three brand new resources developed by award-winning school programmes specialist Minds Ignited, ready for classes to visit from September 2017.
The resources have been compiled for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, utilising the Tower’s unique characteristics to offer an engaging experience before, during and after a visit.
The three new resources – named Terrific Towers, Head in the Clouds and Changing Coastlines – will enable teachers to hit key points in the Geography, English and Maths curriculum whilst enjoying an entertaining trip out of a classroom environment. Between September and March, a led version of the resources is available to book for no additional cost, with a dedicated view deck especially for the class to receive a resource-related talk from a member of the Tower team and complete their worksheets*.
In order to experience the new educational offering for themselves, the Emirates Spinnaker Tower is delighted to extend an invitation to all Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers to enjoy a free familiarisation visit (with a plus one) throughout the summer holidays. The creators of the three new resources are Minds Ignited, which works to help leisure venues create, develop and write bespoke school programmes that appeal to teachers. Soaring proudly above Portsmouth harbour, Emirates Spinnaker Tower is an unmissable 170 metre tall viewing tower offering visitors spectacular 350° panoramic views and a different perspective on one of the most fascinating seascapes on earth. Its unique position provides visitors with incredible views stretching out for up to 23 miles over the historic harbour, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. The admission price is £5.50 for UK School children with a select number of free adult places depending on pupils’ ages.
