An action-packed day of festival fun awaits at the ZSL conservation zoo this May half-term Saturday 27 May – Sunday 4 June
Spring into the season at London Zoo this May half-term, with the Spring Family Festival, an action-packed programme of festivities for the whole family.
From Saturday 27 May to Sunday 4 June, visitors to the world-famous conservation zoo can enjoy creative arts and crafts and fascinating animal talks in the spring sunshine, before leaping into an interactive animal game show and more on a nature-filled day out this May half-term.
Kids can test their survival skills at Foxglove Fortress – one of the funky festival tents dotted around the zoo – where they can get stuck into hands-on bush-craft workshops, while junior conservationists can learn how to tell their canary’s claw from their porcupine’s paw at the tracks and trails station. Young adventurers can also get creative building dens inspired by their favourite animals.
Kids can burn off steam in the Tulip Tent, where they can boogie like a Bird of Paradise at the family-friendly disco, identify weird and wonderful sounds in a game of Animal Noise Bingo and stand as still as a tiger with Musical Animal Statues.
No festival season is complete without a spot of face painting and dress-up, so parents can pop into the Snowdrop Stop to enjoy an ice cream while the kids play animal dress-up and transform into a beautiful butterfly through the magic of face paint*.
Parents with little ones can chill out in the Lilac Lounge or join stimulating baby sensory sessions**, where families can journey along a fictional riverbank to explore the sights, sounds, and textures of the natural world. After an exciting day exploring the zoo, everyone can kick back, relax and listen to original animal tales at one of the Lilac Lounge’s calming Story Time sessions.
Plus, with brand new animal talks unveiled every day at 11:00 am, it’ll be impossible to head home without discovering something new about one of the 400 amazing species cared for at London Zoo.
With more than 14,000 animals to be inspired by, from Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger cubs Zac and Crispin, to recently arrived Reticulated giraffe Nuru, London Zoo’s Spring Family Festival is the ultimate great value day-out this half-term.
