Thursford offers a truly unique experience all year round. Located in North Norfolk, Thursford offers great facilities, free car and coach parking, old-world shops, and cafes. The site is also accessible to all.
From April to September, the museum is home to the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, with vintage fairground rides, silent movies and live performances from Wurlitzer Organist Robert Wolfe. Packed full of history, beautifully manicured gardens, and picturesque picnic areas, Thursford offers something for everyone.
Every November and December, the museum is transformed into Europe’s biggest Christmas show, the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Surrounded by dazzling light displays, decorations and festive cheer – the site becomes a feast for all the senses. With a cast of over 120 singers, dancers, orchestra, and speciality acts performing across a 130ft stage, entertainment isn’t much bigger than this and is a must-see production! With the installation of a new state-of-the-art sound system making 2023 the most immersive show yet, the show continues to go from strength to strength, becoming bigger and better than the last. The show is suitable for ages 8+.
Alongside the show, Thursford offers two immersive experiences. Enchanted Journey of Light is a premium lantern light display like no other, with over 1000 sculptures lighting up the fields of Thursford. The outside walk transports customers across underwater worlds, wild jungles, chilly ice landscapes, and beautiful flower gardens. Fantasy Land takes you on a journey inside a winter wonderland filled with animatronic polar bears, elves, and a snowman family. Both experiences can be done individually or as part of the Thursford experience when watching the Christmas Spectacular.
Tickets for the 2024 show are on sale now, with Thursford confirming ticket prices have been frozen to help with the cost of living. As a thank you to customers and tour operators who continually support and visit year after year, more than 20,000 tickets for 2024 have been sold. Tickets are available to buy online now, with group deposits opening online on 11th January 2024 at 10 am, followed by telephone bookings on 18th January 2024 at 10 am.
Private tours are available to book, offering customers the chance to go behind the curtain of the Christmas Spectacular and see how the show’s magic comes to life. From April – September, packages include entry to the Thursford Steam Museum (with live performances from Robert Wolfe), a backstage tour, and a delicious afternoon tea in the Garden Pavilion. Available for bookings of 20+ people.
Thursford also offers exclusive hire of the museum, surrounding gardens and the Garden Pavilion for parties, conferences, and events.
