Game of Thrones Studio Tour is welcoming tourists to Northern Ireland with a new window display at the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre.
The display showcases the making of a momentous scene in the hit HBO series and gives visitors a hint of what to expect at the official Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
The display also marks the extension of the visitor attraction’s direct coach service from Belfast to include Fridays, in addition to weekend transfers, plus a 25%-off admission to welcome in the spring season.
Game of Thrones Studio Tour invites visitors to discover how Game of Thrones was made, journey into the heart of Westeros, and see breathtaking imagery, captivating sets, original props, and stunning costumes. Much of the award-winning HBO show was filmed at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, Co Down.
The window display at Visit Belfast features Pyke Bridge and two Ironborn characters and pays homage to the memorable scene in Season 6, Episode Two of Game of Thrones during which Balon Greyjoy is confronted by his brother Euron Greyjoy. It also shows how a green screen and visual effects were used to bring the scene to life on our TV screens.
The spectacular Euron Greyjoy costume worn in Season 7, is just one of more than 140 costumes from the show on display at Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
Gail Warke, Campaign Marketing Manager at Game of Thrones Studio Tour, said: “It’s fantastic that visitors to Visit Belfast will get a glimpse of what they can see and experience at Game of Thrones Studio Tour. The Studio Tour is an immersive experience that will take visitors behind the scenes of the making of this global TV phenomenon.
“Game of Thrones Studio Tour is the only experience of its kind in the world, and at 110,000 square-foot it’s also the largest indoor visitor attraction on the island of Ireland. With Northern Ireland playing such an important role in the production of the series, we are looking forward to welcoming visitors as we approach the spring and summer seasons.”
Alister Bell, Visitor Services Operations Manager at Visit Belfast, said: “It’s a pleasure to showcase the Games of Thrones Studio Tour to visitors at the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre. This eye-catching window display is only a snippet of what visitors can expect from the Game of Thrones attraction and will encourage those visiting the city to discover more and visit Game of Thrones Studio Tour for a fully immersive and exciting experience.
