Kynren – An Epic Tale of England celebrates its tenth anniversary season in 2025, continuing to captivate audiences with its spectacular outdoor live-action show.
Performed against the stunning backdrop of Auckland Palace, this award-winning production brings 2,000 years of history, myth, and legend to life with a 1,000-strong volunteer cast and crew on a 7.5-acre stage.
Audiences take their seats in the 8,000-seater open-air tribune, ready to be transported through the defining moments of England’s past. From the Roman occupation and Viking invasions to mediaeval jousting tournaments and the Industrial Revolution, the show is a breathtaking journey through time. Each scene is brought to life with dramatic choreography, equestrian displays, mass battles, and stunning special effects, making Kynren an unmissable experience for all ages.
A particular highlight for 2025 is a special celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the birthplace of the modern railway. Kynren’s replica of Locomotion No.1 will once again steam across the stage, honouring this landmark moment in history.
Visitors can also step into the Viking Village before the show begins. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into Viking life, complete with a blacksmith’s forge, traditional craftspeople, and warriors preparing for battle. It’s the perfect way to set the scene before taking to the tribune for the main event.
With performances running on Saturday evenings from 19th July to 13th September 2025, Kynren continues to be a must-see attraction in the North East.
