Painshill landscape garden and Strawberry Hill House have created a joint package for group visits.
The new ‘18th Century Creations’ offer includes a guided tour of both historic venues in one day. Groups can enjoy half a day at Painshill landscape garden, created by the Honourable Charles Hamilton (1704 – 1786) and the other half at Strawberry Hill House, created by Horace Walpole (1717 – 1797).
The day provides a fantastic mix of 18th century theatrical design. Experience Hamilton’s series of scenes which continually change and surprise you. Enter Walpole’s gloomy hall before ascending to a sumptuous state apartment – a burst of crimson and gold. From stunning Georgian Gothic architecture to magical follies and historic plantings, this guided tour is a visual feast of 18th century creations.
Cost: £16 per person (excluding travel, refreshments and food)
