Christmas Party lovers in the South West are going against the tide when it comes to finding the ideal venue for their annual Christmas shindig and booking early to spend their festive time at the seaside
Record numbers are flocking to the boardwalks of Weston-super-Mare’s famous Grand Pier for festive fun with organisers reporting the pier’s Christmas entertainment evenings are almost sold out with only a limited number of party night opportunities remaining.
This year’s new Casino Noël Party on December 15 and 16 has sold out; there are some opportunities remaining for the Nutcracker and ‘Festive Fever’ parties.
“For many years the pier was only used in the summer but now it is all-year round and it looks like Christmas is going to be very busy. In recent years peopIe have been booking later and later for their work Christmas events so we are absolutely delighted that so many people have decided to book early with us,” said the pier’s event manager, Hollie Otley. “This is the earliest we have ever sold out any of our festive party nights, and the most bookings we have ever experienced for a Christmas period.
“It goes to show there is still appetite there for good quality entertainment nights with a twist. The walk along the boardwalk is magical at night and really sets the mood for an exciting evening.”
Hollie says investment in everything from catering and decoration, to serving staff to sourcing top quality acts, means sales at the Grand Pier are increasing year on year.
“Our entertainment nights are an aspect of the business we’ve concentrating on and are confident we’ve got it right, especially with our festive programme of events this year. “Each year we have introduced a new theme to our Great Hall party nights. This year the Nutcracker party has sold out on three dates; our previous Winter Wonderland and Cirque de Noël parties were extremely well received.
“We accommodate up to 1,000 people across the three party rooms each night and have several party nights still to choose from throughout December, as well as a special New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball.“There are also options for local businesses to host private Christmas parties which can be tailor-made for them.”
The themes parties include unlimited rides on the Grand Pier’s attractions as well as traditional Christmas dinner, spectacular aerial and acrobatic performances, the Ultimate Party Band and a resident DJ to complete the entertainment.Santa’s Grotto opens on the Grand Pier from December 2; with a ‘Supper with Santa’ on December 17 and the Lipinski Christmas Party with live music from The Lipinski Band on December 22.
