If you enjoy a good fright, have a penchant for pumpkins, and love to laugh then look no further than The York Dungeon – the home of Halloween, for a scarily fun day out.
From 17th October to 2nd November, the fiendish attraction is guaranteed to be darker than ever as it introduces a brand new character to its line-up. The mischievous Master of Tricks promises to regale with gripping storytelling, scary surprises and a pumpkin load of tricks and treats.
Armed with his giant Wheel of Misfortune, be prepared for deception and bamboozlement, dares by the dozen and the occasional forfeit too. Once you enter the Dungeon, you’ll meet a host of twisted characters, like the sinister barman of the Golden Fleece Pub and the divine soothsayer alongside some of history’s most notorious villains and rogues.
If that’s not enough, you can leave the kids at home and experience some serious after hours scary fun at the Dungeon on Friday 31st October.
Due to popular demand, the attraction’s LATES event is returning on All Hallows’ Eve for a big dose of scares, laughter and shocks. The over-18s event mashes up theatre, special effects and intriguing storytelling, delivered with wit, humour and plenty of edge-of-the-seat surprises.
On arrival, you’ll leave the modern, working world behind and delve into the dressing up box to ensure you’re dressed to impress and ready for a thrill-filled tour. Guided by a theatrical cast you’ll move from show to show during the journey through 2,000 years of Yorkshire’s history, followed by a Victorian cocktail in the Ghost Show and pie in Market Place in the Witch’s Show. Tours take place at 7:30pm, 8:00pm, 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm, with the last tour at 10:00pm. Tickets cost £27.00 per person, or £50 for couples but group discounts are also available.
Helen Douglas, General Manager at The York Dungeon comments: “Halloween really is our favourite time of year here. We can go all out with the tricks, treats and rascalism that we’re renowned for ensuring our visitors are guaranteed jump through the roof surprises and pumpkins aplenty!”
