‘Vote on Confidence from Industry.’
Thirty UK coach and tour operators and group travel organisers descended on Southern Wales for a unique fact-finding mission.
The tour planners including coach operators, tour wholesalers and inbound operators all jumped at the chance to participate in a showcase of a brand-new tour – Coin, Coal and Cheers. Taking place 6/7 February and based at the popular Parkway Hotel and Spa Cwmbran, the event was put together by three attractions and a hotel working with travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd.
The Royal Mint Experience, Hensol Castle Gin Distillery and A Welsh Coal Mining Experience joined together to offer tour planners a new reason to visit Southern Wales.
With support from Southern Wales Tourism the delegates enjoyed a whistle-stop visit to the three attractions so they could see for themselves how good the new group product is.
The delegates included Clair’s of Derbyshire; Bretherton’s Goldline of Lancashire; Boutique Tours of North Wales; Norman Allen Group Travel of Herefordshire; Janet Redler Travel of Shropshire; Triumph Travel of London; Holiday Staycations of Essex. Interopa of London and Atlas Travel of London.
‘The familiarisation proved to be very successful with most attendees keen to arrange tours as a result of the initiative. The combination of the three attractions and the hotel worked well,’ says Paul Brandwood of the Royal Mint Experience.
