Spring at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre’s latest What’s On is out now and bursting at the seams with must-see shows. From a hot new musical and drama through to family productions, comedy, live music, and events aplenty in the Second Space, all genres are covered this Spring.

‘Tis the season for family shows and Cinderella is one not to be missed! The clock is ready to strike once more from Fri 3 Dec ‘21 – Sat 2 Jan ’22, and will be in good company with Second Space show Santa’s Elves and the Shoemaker (Fri 17 – Tue 21 Dec).

Follow – up show by the producer of the international hit musical Six, Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World (Wed 5 – Sat 8 Mar) is a new pop musical ready to inspire, and popular David Walliams’ book Billionaire Boy (Tue 3 – Sun 6 Mar) is being brought to life live on stage, a must for book worms and theatre fans. With Justin Live (Sat 19 Mar) and Fireman Sam (Sun 1 May), there’s plenty of fun on the horizon for families.

Mischief is in store not once, but twice with Groan Ups (Mon 24 – Sat 29 Jan), a new comedy from the award-winning team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, and they return again with Magic Goes Wrong (Mon 21 – Sat 26 Feb), a comedy catastrophe that has been created with none other than Penn and Teller! Gripping movie sensation Fatal Attraction (Mon 4 – Sat 9 Apr) arrives as an intoxicating new stage play starring soap star favourite Oliver Farnworth (Coronation Street) as Dan Gallagher and Footballer’s Wives icon Susie Amy, as Beth Gallagher.

Breath-taking dance comes courtesy of Moscow City Ballet with two much loved pieces, Swan Lake (Mon 10) & Nutcracker (Tue 11 Jan), presented in classic Russian style and complemented by a full orchestra. More stunning ballet arrives later in the spring with English Youth Ballet’s presentation of Swan Lake (Tue 22 – Wed 23 Mar) featuring international professional dancers and an impressive cast of over 100 young local dancers. With Kevin Clifton’s Burn The Floor (Mon 31 Jan) and Anton and Erin’s Showtime making an appearance, dance lovers will be in for a treat in 2022.

Warm up the cold nights with toe-tapping live music covering all bases – join The UK Pink Floyd Experience (Sun 9 Jan), Hello Again – A Tribute to Neil Diamond (Sun 23 Jan), The Rolling Stones Story (Wed 2 Feb), The Best of Bowie (Weed 9 Mar) and Midnight Train to Georgia (Sun 20 Mar) for nostalgic nights of music.

The hottest 80’s night club is coming to town with star of Spandau Ballet Martin Kemp’s Back to the 80s DJ set (Sat 5 Feb) and one of the biggest names on the Irish music scene, Nathan Carter (Fri 11 Mar) is ready to perform an array of original songs and covers showcasing his incredible tone and vocal ability.

The Second Space boasts its own unique programme of events with the return of the ever-popular Comedy Clubs (Fri 21 Jan, Fri 25 Feb, Fri 25 Mar and Fri 22 Apr), Interstella Duo (Sat 22 Jun) combining their voices, violin, viola, piano and guitar, comedian Geoff Norcott (Fri 4 Feb) and The ELO Encounter (Sat 29 Jun).
