There’s Nowhere Like Norfolk

Some of Norfolk’s leading personalities are fronting the county’s first worldwide promotional campaign, ‘There’s Nowhere Like Norfolk’, in a new series of digital films on Visit Britain TV. Visit Norfolk, the county’s official tourism voice and website, has commissioned more than a dozen films which are being screened on a new dedicated Norfolk channel.

The films, with themes including ‘Coast’, ‘Family Fun’, ‘Festivals & Culture’ and ‘Food & Drink’, offer things to do, places to visit and adventures to be had.

Viscount Coke guides us around Holkham Hall, Sandringham’s Helen Walch lifts the lid on the Queen’s rural retreat, while Michelin-starred restaurateur and BBC Saturday morning cookery star Galton Blackiston cooks us north Norfolk lobster.

In the ‘Family Fun’ film BeWILDerwood owner Tom Blofeld, nephew of cricket commentator Henry and whose namesake relative was inspiration for the James Bond villain, brings alive his magical world of Boggles, Twiggles and Crocklebogs.

In ‘Coast’ Graham Bean takes us on a boat trip to see the wonderful Grey and Common seals at Blakeney Point and The Flying Kiwi Chris Coubrough tells us why Norfolk mussels and oysters are the best he’s eaten anywhere in the world!

“Who better to tell potential visitors about the joys of a holiday or short break in Norfolk than the very people who are going to warmly welcome them?” said Visit Norfolk manager, Pete Waters.

“We have brilliant built and natural capital, but it’s often the friendly people you meet who give you the best memories.”

More films will be added during the campaign, which will see Visit Britain TV promote Norfolk to their 2000 travel and lifestyle website partners and 250 bloggers across the world and have Norfolk included in Visit Britain’s ‘Britain is GREAT’ activity.

“Enjoy a taste of Norfolk with these films and our website, and then come and explore Norfolk for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you!” added Pete.

The films can be viewed on Visit Britain TV (http://visitbritain.tv/en/channel/53/visit-norfolk) and on Visit Norfolk (http://www.visitnorfolk.co.uk/Norfolk-digital-films.aspx) where you can also learn more about the featured personalities’ favourite Norfolk things.

The ‘There’s Nowhere Like Norfolk’ campaign was launched at Holkham Hall, north Norfolk on Friday, October 17.
