Watford Welcomes Coach and Tours: Valentine’s Day Invitation

The UK travel trade are to visit a part of the UK not always considered to be a tourist destination. And as it’s taking place on Valentine’s Day the organisers are sending out invitations for a unique date!

Watford in Hertfordshire is to welcome coach and tour operators and group travel organisers during a special Love Watford Coach and Group Travel Day on Saturday 14th February.

Coordinated by the Watford Town Centre Partnership and arranged by Hampshire based travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd working in conjunction with local businesses, the aim of the event is to change people’s perceptions about the town – in the words of Town Centre Manager Maria Manion ‘to show that Watford is vibrant, easy and safe to visit and has much to offer day-trippers.’

‘Watford has really improved over recent years, significant investment has been made in the town and it continues to grow. We now feel confident that Watford provides a total visitor experience and is capable of welcoming coach parties and groups of visitors – we have really easy access just off junction 5 of the M1 and now boast so many things to see and do,’ explains Maria. ‘You can get everything you want now, here in Watford!’

Commencing at 10.00 am at the Palace Theatre, the invited tour planners will take in a highly enjoyable fact-finding stroll through the many attractions and sites of Watford including the recently re-sited indoor market, the brand new Parade area, Watford Museum, as well as the exciting plans for the re development of the INTU shopping centre soon to be unveiled in the town.

The group will also see first-hand the new arrangements for coach drop off, pick up and parking, deemed so essential in order to attract the spending power of tourists. And Watford’s hugely successful annual events programme will be showcased and this includes on that very day the Valentine Day Food Festival.

Perambulation

The VIP visitors will also take in a Watford Town Tour on that day calling in to the Coliseum Theatre during their highly enjoyable and guided perambulation.

The one day event will be a real opportunity for the UK travel trade to experience for themselves a great new coach stop thinks Steve Reed:

‘Watford has not really been on the tourism radar up to now but I have to say that I was impressed by its vibrancy, it’s variety of shopping opportunities and also by its superb and easy location for coach visits,’ says Steve
