WEMBLEY STADIUM TOURS ANNOUNCES FREE GROUP COACH PARKING & UNVEILS NEW DRESSING ROOMS

Wembley Stadium is pleased to announce a hat-trick of new visitor enhancements including free group coach parking, a new onsite photography solution and brand new changing rooms, which will all be in place when the tour reopens later this year.

The additions, which were undertaken before social distancing was put in place, are part of a raft of enhancements initially indented for the Euro 2020 Football Tournament, which will now take place in June 2021. Stadium Tour visitors will now get the opportunity to experience the ground-breaking additions before most international players will get the chance to.

A major transformation of the dressing rooms has seen the entire layout reconfigured with design input from the England Technical Team and the players themselves to ensure the facilities utilise the latest in high-performance thinking and provide England teams with the best possible chance for success. A new u-shaped layout provides a more effective environment for communication between players and coaches which is in line with UEFA and FIFA guidelines for venues hosting major tournament finals.

The rooms have been rotated 90 degrees and now include a multitude of new features to experience. Sit in the seat of your favourite England player or take a look at Manager, Gareth Southgate’s new office, which he helped to design. The new updates are perfect for groups interested in architecture, design, sports science and psychology, particularly as the latter will be able to focus on how the new layouts affect performance and ability.

The brand-new onsite photo solution allows visitors to take home several digital images to remember their visit to Wembley Stadium. The experience allows guests to capture a series of 11 images against different photo backgrounds and themes. The brand new installation is situated at the start of the tour and offers visitors the opportunity to purchase printed copies of the photos as well as a souvenir photobook.

Completing the hat-trick of additions, groups arriving by coach for their Stadium Tour can now park for free, provided parking is booked in advance. Drivers are also able to join their groups’ tours on a complementary basis. It all makes for a perfect group friendly day out. Simon Wickham Senior Commercial Manager at the FA said “Wembley is an iconic stadium with a history like no other venue, and we are always looking to evolve the venue’s infrastructure to ensure that it stays at the forefront of sports and entertainment and maintains its industry-leading status.

We’re delighted to bring these latest developments to the Stadium Tour – they’re part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the Tour remains a best in class, state of the art experience for everyone to enjoy. We’re looking forward to welcoming groups when the Tour reopens, and to getting their feedback.”

Other improvements to the Stadium which both Tour guests and viewers on TV will notice include; a brand-new pitch with the surface having been reconstructed and grown over a 14-week period – the first time this process has taken place in a major European stadium during the Winter months. The new surface uses the very latest turf technology with over 75,000km of artificial grass fibres stitched into the layers of sand beneath the pitch, which is composed of 97 per cent organic grass and three per cent artificial grass fibres; a new state-of-the-art sound system and no fewer than 368 new LED floodlights both adding significantly to fans event-day experience.
